The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-7:29) is one of the most influential pieces of literature in history, and is considered by many to be the most defining expression of Christ's teachings. Sylvia Rostami, founder of Infinite Image and inventor of Text Magic™, wished to visually bring to life the eternal words of the Sermon. Through the revolutionary Text Magic™ process, she created this amazing portrait of Jesus Christ.
To ensure the stylistic and historical accuracy of this artwork, every detail was considered. The paper texture, the Old English font, and even the ornate borders that are typical of old hand made Bibles all combine to bring this artwork to life. The legibility of the Sermon was also ensured by achieving a perfect balance between the sizes of the text and the size of the canvas (22 x 27 inches). Rostami's goal in making this artwork was to visually instill a sense that the ever wise, ever compassionate Jesus is preaching his holy words directly to the viewer: "I wanted to bring Jesus to the viewer, as if Jesus is standing in front of you, talking to you. And the reason why I chose Matthew's Sermon on the Mount is because I believe that it's the most accurate expression of Christ's teachings." Rostami hopes through her artwork to shine a new light on the immortal beauty and wisdom of the Sermon.
